New Pop Up Shop Initiative is set to fly in Horsham
Following months of business uncertainty and redundancies, many people have taken the
leap to create their own business during the pandemic. To reflect this, Pop Up Horsham is
supporting businesses to showcase their products to provide an opportunity to experience
hybrid retail – online and on the high street.
Following the success of Pop-Up Horsham in 2015, which supported 28 new businesses to
experience high street retail, the initiative is back for 2021/22 with a new pop-up shop and
is delighted to be welcoming the Crew Market as one of its main concessions.
The Crew Market showcases the entrepreneurial spirit of Cabin Crew, and people from
aviation, both past and present. Their aims are to help aircrew staff, current and former, to
achieve their true business potential in these uncertain times.
“At Crew Businesses, we believe in supporting people from all areas of aviation achieve
their potential in running a business, whether large or small. After a very challenging
year, the resilience, determination and creativity that has been shown is inspiring!” Said
Gemma Brazier, Founder: Crew Businesses.
According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), nearly 400,000 UK companies closed in
2020 with a further 250,000 expected to fold this year. However, one positive trend from
the crisis has been a surge in new businesses. Pop Up Horsham is especially keen to help
those who have been made redundant and started a new business within the past eighteen
months. As well as working with more established independents and small businesses
whatever the background, including those within the travel, entertainment, well-being, or
hospitality industries. The initiative aims to support those trying to grow their business whether it be working around family commitments, a full-time job, or supporting those who
are struggling to gain confidence to take their products out onto the high street.
Opening November 1st, the brand-new store in West Street is right in the heart of Horsham,
with a busy pedestrianised area and makes use of a vacant property owned by the council,
providing affordable temporary premises. This allows smaller enterprises and start-up
businesses the opportunity to trial business concepts and trade in a high street location and
use dedicated events space without the commitment or cost of a longer-term lease.
Entrepreneurs and small businesses interested in this opportunity should apply to join Pop Uo Horsham today!
